Tulsa Defeats UAB 37-20 - Recap
Tulsa's aerial attack produced 341 yards and the Golden Hurricane produced a 37-20 victory over UAB on Saturday at Chapman Stadium.
The Golden Hurricane earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 21.5-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 59.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Ja'Terian Douglas rushed for 137 yards, while Alex Singleton added 43 yards in the win. Clay Sears and Jordan James added 105 and 87 receiving yards respectively.
Darrin Reaves rushed for 29 yards for UAB, while Greg Franklin added 28 yards. Bryan Ellis threw for 280 yards for the Blazers, while receivers Jamarcus Nelson and Jackie Williams had 111 and 77 yards respectively.
UAB was outgained by Tulsa 559-379 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 30-19 by the Golden Hurricane.
UAB lost the time of possession battle 31:20/28:40, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Tulsa takes its act on the road to face Rice looking for another win. For UAB, they head home to face Central Florida.
