Hawkeyes blow out Ball St. in season opener

The No.11 Iowa Hawkeyes scored five rushing touchdowns on Saturday as they cruised to a 56-0 win in their season-opening game against the Ball State Cardinals.

The Hawkeyes were listed as 44-point favorites and were successful on covering the spread. Iowa’s 56 points just pushed the final score OVER the posted over/under (55.5).

Shonne Green ran for 115 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, while Sam Brownlee had 25 rushing yards and two touchdowns for Iowa.

Drew Tate completed 9 of 10 passes for 99 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Quarterback Warren Suess was 5-for-12 for 55 yards in the loss for Ball State.
