Turnovers help Rebels down Tigers
A blocked punt and an interception were returned for touchdowns as the Mississippi Rebels hung on to defeat the Memphis Tigers 23-21 Saturday in their season opener.
Mississippi covered the 2.5-point spread on the road, while the combined 38 points were UNDER the posted total of 48.
Seth Adams led the Rebels with 197 yards passing with a touchdown, and completed 19-of-30 pass attempts in the win.
Joseph Doss carried the ball 14 times for 64 yards and a touchdown for the Tigers, and Duke Calhoun caught 11 passes for 97 yards and a TD.
