Big quarter lifts Pirates past Tigers
The East Carolina Pirates scored 28 points in the third quarter Saturday, and came away with a 56-40 win over the Memphis Tigers.
East Carolina covered the 6-point spread on the road, and the combined scored sailed OVER the posted total of 60.
Chris Johnson carried the ball 20 times for 300 yards with four touchdowns in the win, and Patrick Pinkney completed 8-of-18 passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns.
Martin Hankins threw for 406 yards with four touchdowns, and completed 33-of-58 passes in a losing effort.
