UAB Defeats Memphis 41-35 - Recap
Jonathan Perry led the way with 410 passing yards on Saturday as the Blazers picked up a 41-35 victory over the Tigers at Liberty Bowl.
The Blazers were a 5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 54.5.
Greg Franklin rushed for 73 yards, while Darrin Reaves added 73 yards in the win. Jamarcus Nelson and Greg Franklin added 133 and 70 receiving yards respectively.
Jerrell Rhodes rushed for 95 yards for Memphis, while Billy Foster added 87 yards. Taylor Reed threw for 167 yards for the Tigers, while receivers Billy Foster and Tannar Rehrer had 79 and 29 yards respectively.
Memphis was outgained by UAB 601-384 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 31-20 by the Blazers.
The time of possession battle favored UAB as their offense was on the field for 33:06, longer than the 26:54 of their opponents.
UAB heads into a Week 12 battle against Southern Miss. Memphis, meanwhile, will have their next action against Marshall.
