Houston got a 119-yard performance from Charles Sims as a key part of its 45-35 victory over the Miners on Saturday at John O`Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium.

David Piland completed 16 of 30 pass attempts for 174 yards for the Cougars in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Nathan Jeffery rushed for 137 yards for Texas El Paso, while Blaire Sullivan added 53 yards. Blaire Sullivan threw for 105 yards for the Miners, while receivers Jordan Leslie and Michael Edwards had 95 and 55 yards respectively.
Houston lost the offensive yardage battle to Texas El Paso 494-339 yards in Saturday's game. Texas El Paso had more first downs as that total ended up 26-19.
Texas El Paso led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 39:27/20:33 split in that important category.
