Eastern Michigan vs Vanderbilt Recap - Commodores Win 52-6
The Eagles were burned by John Cole for 103 receiving yards on Saturday as the Commodores picked up a 52-6 win at Vanderbilt Stadium.
Vanderbilt won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 24.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 54.5.
Larry Smith completed 16 of 27 pass attempts for 253 yards for the Commodores in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Corey Welch rushed for 55 yards for Eastern Michigan, while Javonti Greene added 45 yards. Alex Gillett threw for 99 yards for the Eagles, while receivers Tyrone Burke and Garrett Hoskins had 45 and 41 yards respectively.
Eastern Michigan lost the offensive yardage battle to Vanderbilt 558-209 yards in Saturday's game. Vanderbilt had more first downs as that total ended up 24-10.
Vanderbilt lost the time of possession battle 33:00/27:00, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
