Commodores Fall 21-7 Against South Carolina - Game Recap
South Carolina's aerial attack produced 355 yards and the Gamecocks produced a 21-7 victory over Vanderbilt on Saturday at Vanderbilt Stadium.
The Gamecocks were a 11.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 46.5.
Brian Maddox rushed for 146 yards, while Kenny Miles added 25 yards in the win. Alshon Jeffery and Tori Gurley added 158 and 109 receiving yards respectively.
Larry Smith rushed for 48 yards for Vanderbilt, while Warren Norman added 45 yards. Larry Smith threw for 142 yards for the Commodores, while receivers Brandon Barden and John Cole had 47 and 39 yards respectively.
Vanderbilt was outgained by South Carolina 484-250 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 25-11 by the Gamecocks.
Vanderbilt lost the time of possession battle 37:21/22:39, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
South Carolina heads into a Week 9 battle against Tennessee. Vanderbilt, meanwhile, will have their next action against Arkansas.
