Commodores vs Rebels Final: 30-7 - Recap
Zac Stacy tore up the turf for 169 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Commodores to a 30-7 win over the Rebels at Vanderbilt Stadium.
The Commodores were a 2.5-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 47.5.
Larry Smith completed 13 of 20 pass attempts for 103 yards for the Commodores in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Jeff Scott rushed for 43 yards for Mississippi, while Brandon Bolden added 39 yards. Zack Stoudt threw for 139 yards for the Rebels, while receivers Ja-Mes Logan and Donte Moncrief had 48 and 47 yards respectively.
Mississippi was outgained by Vanderbilt 387-234 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 19-13 by the Commodores.
Vanderbilt led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 31:46/28:14 split in that important category.
Next game, Vanderbilt takes its act on the road to face South Carolina looking for another win. For Mississippi, they head home to face Georgia.
