Detroit vs Minnesota Wrap - Minnesota Wins 34-24

Adrian Peterson scampered through the Detroit defense for 171 yards as Minnesota handed the Lions a 34-24 defeat on Sunday at The Metrodome.

Minnesota won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 3-point spread as underdogs. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 46.5.

Christian Ponder completed 24 of 32 pass attempts for 221 yards and 2 TDs for the Vikings in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.

Mikel Leshoure rushed for 43 yards for Detroit, while Matthew Stafford added 13 yards. Matthew Stafford threw for 329 yards for the Lions, while receivers Calvin Johnson and Joique Bell had 207 and 44 yards respectively.

Detroit lost the offensive yardage battle to Minnesota 403-368 yards in Sunday's game. Detroit had more first downs as that total ended up 23-18.

Minnesota led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 34:24/25:36 split in that important category.

Minnesota looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Bears. The Lions will aim to get back on the winning track vs Green Bay.
