Mendenhall, Steelers hold off Chargers

Rashard Mendenhall rushed for 165 yards on 29 carries with two touchdowns to lead the Pittsburgh Steelers over the San Diego Chargers 38-28 on Sunday night.

Pittsburgh covered as 5-point home favorites, while the teams played OVER the 41-point total listed by sportsbooks.

Ben Roethlisberger was 26-of-33 for 333 yards with two TD passes for the Steelers, as Hines Ward caught eight balls for 113 yards for Pittsburgh.

Antonio Gates hauled in nine passes for 124 yards with two scores for San Diego, while Philip Rivers went 21-of-36 for 254 yards with three touchdowns for the Chargers.
