49ers Fall 25-22 Against New Orleans - Game Recap

New Orleans got 2 scoring strikes from Drew Brees en route to a 25-22 victory over San Francisco on Monday in Week 2 action at Candlestick Park.

The Saints earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 4.5-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 43.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.

Pierre Thomas rushed for 46 yards, while Reggie Bush added 4 yards in the win. Marques Colston and Pierre Thomas added 67 and 57 receiving yards respectively.

Frank Gore rushed for 112 yards for San Francisco, while Alex Smith added 28 yards. Alex Smith threw for 275 yards for the 49ers, while receivers Vernon Davis and Josh Morgan had 78 and 70 yards respectively.

New Orleans was outgained by San Francisco 417-287 yards in Monday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 24-17 by the 49ers.

New Orleans led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 32:40/27:20 split in that important category.

Next game, New Orleans takes its act home to face Atlanta looking for another win. For San Francisco, they head on the road to face Kansas City.
