Buccaneers vs Panthers Final: 31-16 - Recap

Josh Freeman passed for 2 TDs and 241 yards in leading Tampa Bay to a 31-16 win over Carolina on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.

Tampa Bay won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 6.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 37.5.

LeGarrette Blount rushed for 91 yards, while Carnell Williams added 62 yards in the win. Mike Williams and Kellen Winslow added 68 and 65 receiving yards respectively.

Mike Goodson rushed for 100 yards for Carolina, while Jimmy Clausen added 11 yards. Jimmy Clausen threw for 191 yards for the Panthers, while receivers Steve Smith and David Gettis had 47 and 42 yards respectively.

Tampa Bay outgained Carolina 421-300 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 21-18 by the Buccaneers.

Carolina lost the time of possession battle 31:20/28:40, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, Tampa Bay takes its act on the road to face San Francisco looking for another win. For Carolina, they head home to face Baltimore.
