Steelers surprise Colts
Colts’ kicker Mike Vanderjagt missed a 46-yards field goal wide right late in the fourth quarter Sunday as the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Indianapolis Colts 21-18 to send the Steelers to the AFC Championship game.
The Steelers were a 10-point underdog in the game. The combined score was UNDER the posted over/under total (48).
Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger completed 14-of-24 passes for 197 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Jerome Bettis rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries and also committed a fumble on the two-yard line late in the fourth quarter giving the Colts a chance to tie the game.
Peyton Manning completed 22-of-38 passes for 290 yards with a touchdown. Edgerrin James rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. Reggie Wayne caught seven passes for 97 yards, while Marvin Harrison was limited to three catches for 52 yards.
