Pittsburgh Defeats Carolina 27-3 - Recap

Ben Roethlisberger's 320-yard performance through the air was the key in Pittsburgh's 27-3 win over Carolina on Thursday at Heinz Field.

Pittsburgh was the ATS victor, as they covered the 14-point spread as a favorite. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 37.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Rashard Mendenhall rushed for 65 yards, while Isaac Redman added 43 yards in the win. Mike Wallace and Heath Miller added 104 and 73 receiving yards respectively.

Jonathan Stewart rushed for 71 yards for Carolina, while Mike Goodson added 3 yards. Jimmy Clausen threw for 72 yards for the Panthers, while receivers Mike Goodson and Steve Smith had 23 and 17 yards respectively.

Carolina lost the offensive yardage battle to Pittsburgh 408-119 yards in Thursday's game. Pittsburgh had more first downs as that total ended up 22-7.

Carolina lost the time of possession battle 35:24/24:36, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, Pittsburgh takes its act on the road to face Cleveland looking for another win. For Carolina, they head on the road to face Atlanta.
