Slaton, Texans hold off Jaguars

Steve Slaton ran for 130 yards on 21 carries with two touchdowns to lead the Houston Texans past the Jacksonville Jaguars 30-17 on Monday night.

Houston won as 3.5-point home favorites as the teams played under the 49-point total posted by oddsmakers.

Sage Rosenfels was 14-of-24 for 200 yards with a TD pass and an interception for the Texans, while Andre Johnson caught seven balls for 75 yards with a score for Houston.

David Garrard went 25-of-35 for 287 yards with a touchdown and a pick for Jacksonville, as Matt Jones hauled in eight passes for 104 yards for the Jaguars.
