Bears headed to Super Bowl
Thomas Jones rushed for 123 yards on only 19 carries and found the end zone twice Sunday to lead the Chicago Bears past the New Orleans Saints 39-14 in the NFC Championship game.
The Bears had been favored by 3-points in the game and easily covered the small spread. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total.
Bears’ quarterback Rex Grossman completed 11-of-26 passes for 144 yards with a touchdown in the win. Bernard Berrian caught five passes for 85 yards and a touchdown, while running back Cedric Benson rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown.
Drew Brees completed 27-of-49 passes for 354 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for New Orleans. Reggie Bush was held to only 19 yards on the ground, but he led the Saints with seven reception for 132 yards, including an 88-yard touchdown.
The Bears will face the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLI in Miami on February 4.
