Tampa Bay vs Carolina Recap - Panthers Win 48-16

The Panthers got a 3-TD performance from Cam Newton as Carolina handed Tampa Bay a 48-16 defeat on Saturday at Bank of America Stadium.

Carolina won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 7.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 48.5.

Jonathan Stewart rushed for 88 yards, while DeAngelo Williams added 66 yards in the win. Brandon LaFell and DeAngelo Williams added 103 and 18 receiving yards respectively.

Kregg Lumpkin rushed for 24 yards for Tampa Bay, while Mossis Madu added 20 yards. Josh Freeman threw for 274 yards for the Buccaneers, while receivers Kellen Winslow and Sammie Stroughter had 63 and 52 yards respectively.

Tampa Bay was outgained by Carolina 433-317 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 22-20 by the Buccaneers.

Carolina lost the time of possession battle 32:57/27:03, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Carolina looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Saints. The Buccaneers will aim to get back on the winning track at Atlanta.
