Detroit Defeats St. Louis 27-23 - Recap

Matthew Stafford led the way with 355 passing yards on Sunday as the Lions picked up a 27-23 victory over the Rams at Ford Field.

The Lions earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 8-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 46.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.

Kevin Smith rushed for 62 yards, while Titus Young added 11 yards in the win. Calvin Johnson and Brandon Pettigrew added 111 and 77 receiving yards respectively.

Steven Jackson rushed for 53 yards for St. Louis, while Daryl Richardson added 20 yards. Sam Bradford threw for 198 yards for the Rams, while receivers Danny Amendola and Brandon Gibson had 70 and 51 yards respectively.

St. Louis lost the offensive yardage battle to Detroit 429-251 yards in Sunday's game. Detroit had more first downs as that total ended up 28-14.

The time of possession battle favored St. Louis as their offense was on the field for 30:06, longer than the 29:54 of their opponents.

Next game, Detroit takes its act on the road to face San Francisco looking for another win. For St. Louis, they head home to face Washington.
