Minnesota Defeats Jacksonville 26-23 - Recap

Adrian Peterson ran through the Jacksonville defense for 2 TDs as Minnesota handed the Jaguars a 26-23 defeat on Sunday at The Metrodome.

The Vikings won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the 3.5-point spread. OVER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an OVER play.

Christian Ponder completed 20 of 27 pass attempts for 270 yards and 0 TDs for the Vikings in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.

Maurice Jones-Drew rushed for 77 yards for Jacksonville, while Rashad Jennings added 31 yards. Blaine Gabbert threw for 260 yards for the Jaguars, while receivers Cecil Shorts and Laurent Robinson had 74 and 66 yards respectively.

Jacksonville lost the offensive yardage battle to Minnesota 389-362 yards in Sunday's game. Jacksonville had more first downs as that total ended up 22-20.

The time of possession battle favored Jacksonville as their offense was on the field for 37:49, longer than the 27:05 of their opponents.

Next game, Minnesota takes its act on the road to face Indianapolis looking for another win. For Jacksonville, they head home to face Houston.
