The Carolina Hurricanes scored twice in all three periods and came away with a season-opening 6-4 win over the Florida Panthers Friday night.
Carolina won the game as -155 favorites, while the 10 goals made it OVER the posted over/under (5.5).
Ray Whitney, Tuomo Ruutu, Rod Brind�Amour, Joni Pitkanen, Dan LaCouture and Matt Cullen scored for the Hurricanes. Cam Ward made 29 saves to earn the victory.
David Booth, Cory Stillman, Radek Dvorak and Nathan Horton replied for the Panthers.
