Canadiens get by Hurricanes in shootout

Saku Koivu scored the deciding goal in the shootout to lift the Montreal Canadiens to a 3-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night.

Montreal won as -190 home favorites as the teams played under the 5.5-goal total listed by sportsbooks.

Alex Kovalev and Alex Tanguay lit up the lamp in regulation for the Canadiens, who won despite being outshot 33-25 on the night.

Anton Babchuk and Matt Cullen had goals for Carolina, which failed to score on Montreal goaltender Carey Price in the shootout.
