Canes hold off Leafs with OT win
The Carolina Hurricanes avoided falling victim to another Toronto Maple Leafs comeback with a 5-4 overtime victory at the Air Canada Centre Tuesday night.
Carolina came away with the win as +115 road underdogs. The final score played over the 5.5-goal total.
The Canes got five goals from five players with Tuomo Ruutu, Dennis Seidenberg, Chad LaRose, Ryan Bayda and Niclas Wallin, who scored the game winner, all finding the back of the net.
Toronto came back from being down 4-1 to force overtime but fell short in the extra period. Scoring in the loss was Niklas Hagman, Mike Van Ryn and Mikhail Grabovski, who put two past the goaltender.
