The Colorado Avalanche got a nifty backhand goal from Milan Hejduk to seal their 4-3 shootout victory over the Los Angeles Kings at STAPLES Center Saturday night.
Colorado won as a +100 road underdog while the final played over the 5.5-goal total set by oddsmakers.
The Avalanche avoid a third period letdown when Paul Stastny tied the game to force the additional time. Wojtek Wolski and Hejduk also scored in regulation. The win snapped a two-game slide for Colorado.
The Kings came back to take the lead with two goals in the third period from Patrick OSullivan and Dustin Brown. Alexander Frolov added a power-play goal in the loss.
