Sabres hold off Hurricanes
The Buffalo Sabres weathered the storm, beating the Carolina Hurricanes 3-1 at HSBC Arena Saturday night.
Buffalo won as a -147 home favorite while the final score played under the 5.5-goal total.
Tim Connolly scored twice for the Sabres, who also got a goal from Teppo Numminen in the first period.
The Canes fired 37 shots on goal but got just one goal from Ray Whitney early in the third period.
