St. Louis won as a -138 home favorite while the final score played under the 5.5-goal total.
T.J. Oshie, Keith Tkachuk and Brad Boyes all netted goals in the middle frame. David Perron added another just a minute into the third.
The Avs' lone goal came from Chris Stewart in the first period.
