Hurricanes shut out Devils

Cam Ward made 28 saves and Eric Staal scored a pair of goals Sunday, as the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the New Jersey Devils 4-0 to tie their opening round playoff series 3-3.

The Hurricanes were a -140 home favorite in the game and the four goals scored fell UNDER the posted over/under total (5).

Ray Whitney had four points for Carolina with a goal and three assists, while Jussi Jokinen also scored in the win.

Martin Brodeur made 33 save for New Jersey.
