Capitals hold off Penguins
Alexander Ovechkin had a hat trick to lift the Washington Capitals over the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 to take a 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal series on Monday night.
Washington cashed as -145 home favorites as the game played over the 5.5-goal total set by oddsmakers.
Dave Steckel also scored for the Capitals, who got two assists apiece from Sergei Fedorov and Viktor Kozlov in the win.
Sidney Crosby potted all three markers for Pittsburgh, which outshot Washington 36-33 on the night.
