Pens edge Caps in OT

Kris Letang fired a pass from Sidney Crosby at 11:23 of overtime into the net to lift the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals Wednesday night at Mellon Arena, and now trail the best-of-seven Eastern semifinal 2-1.

Pittsburgh won the game as -180 favorites, while the five goals went UNDER the posted over/under (5.5).

Ruslan Fedotenko and Evgeni Malkin potted the other goals for the Penguins, and Sidney Crosby collected a pair of assists in the win.

Alexander Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom scored for the Capitals. Simeon Varlamov stopped 39 shots in a losing effort.
