Josh Gorges scored at 4:47 of overtime to lift the Montreal Canadiens to a 4-3 season-opening win over the Toronto Maple Leafs Thursday night at the Air Canada Centre.
Montreal won the game as +105 underdogs, while the seven goals made it OVER the posted over/under (6).
Brian Gionta and Glen Metropolit scored on the power play, while Travis Moen added the other marker for the Canadiens. Carey Price was outstanding in making 43 saves.
Matt Stajan scored a pair of power play goals, and Alexei Ponikarovsky scored the other goal for the Maple Leafs.
