Pittsburgh Defeats Syracuse 45-14 - Recap
The battle between the Panthers and Orange didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Syracuse was handed a 45-14 defeat on Saturday at Carrier Dome.
Pittsburgh was a favorite by 2.5 points and came through with an ATS victory for bettors. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 45.5.
Tino Sunseri completed 17 of 24 pass attempts for 266 yards for the Panthers in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Delone Carter rushed for 38 yards for Syracuse, while Antwon Bailey added 25 yards. Ryan Nassib threw for 231 yards for the Orange, while receivers Alec Lemon and Van Chew had 108 and 50 yards respectively.
Pittsburgh outgained Syracuse 389-308 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 21-17 by the Orange.
The time of possession battle favored Pittsburgh as their offense was on the field for 33:20, longer than the 26:40 of their opponents.
Next game, Pittsburgh takes its act home to face Rutgers looking for another win. For Syracuse, they head on the road to face West Virginia.
