Clemson shuts down Seminoles
Charlie Whitehurst threw three touchdown passes on Saturday and the Clemson Tigers dropped the No.17 Florida Seminoles 35-14.
The Tigers came into this game as a slight 1.5-point favorite at home and were able to cover the spread. The game’s combined 49 points just made it OVER the posted over/under (48.5).
Whitehurst finished the game completing 20-of-31 passes for 260 yards and was picked off once in the victory. James Davis rushed for a pair of touchdowns, and Chansi Stuckey made nine catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns.
The Seminoles only touchdown came on a Cole Chason blocked punt. Gary Cismesia kicked two 47-yard field goals, and Drew Weatherford passed for 117 yards and was picked off twice in the loss.
With the defeat, the Seminoles record falls to 7-3, while the Tigers improve to 6-4.
