Fighting Irish lay out Syracuse
Brady Quinn passed for 270 yards and two touchdowns to lead the No. 6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish to a 34-10 win over the Syracuse Orange on Saturday.
Despite the loss, the Orange was able to cover the 33-point spread. The game’s combined 44 points fell UNDER the posted total (53).
Darius Walker had 124 yards rushing and a TD on 26 carries, while Maurice Stovall and Jeff Samardija had a touchdown catch each for the Irish. Leo Ferrine returned an interception 16 yards for a TD in the victory.Perry Patterson Jr. completed an 18-yard touchdown pass to Joseph Kowalewski late in the fourth quarter to give the Orange their only TD of the game.
