Hokies pitch shutout of state rivals
The No.17 Virginia Tech Hokies gave up only 113 yards of offence in a 17-0 shutout of the Virginia Cavaliers at Lane Stadium on Saturday.
The Hokies just managed to cover the 16.5-point spread at home, and the 17 points scored were UNDER the posted total of 36.
Sean Glennon was dangerous with his arms and legs, going 12-for-18 for 148 yards, one touchdown, and one pick, while running for 31 yards. Kenny Lewis carried the ball 19 times for 79 yards for the Hokies.
Jameel Sewell was 10-for-21 for 69 yards and an interception, while Jason Snelling was held to 22 yards on 13 rushing attempts for the Cavaliers.
