Logan Thomas sliced and diced the Hurricanes defense for 310 yards as Virginia Tech handed Miami a 38-35 defeat on Saturday at Lane Stadium.

David Wilson rushed for 128 yards, while Logan Thomas added 28 yards in the win. Jarrett Boykin and Danny Coale added 120 and 91 receiving yards respectively.
Lamar Miller rushed for 166 yards for Miami, while Mike James added 65 yards. Jacory Harris threw for 267 yards for the Hurricanes, while receivers Travis Benjamin and Clive Walford had 77 and 66 yards respectively.
Virginia Tech was outgained by Miami 519-482 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 26-21 by the Hokies.
Miami lost the time of possession battle 31:25/28:35, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Virginia Tech looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Wake Forest. Miami will aim to get back on the winning track at North Carolina.
