Nicklas Backstrom scored a pair of goals to lead the Washington Capitals in a 5-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres Wednesday night at the Verizon Center.
Washington won the game as -165 favorites, and the seven goals made it OVER the posted over/under (5.5).
Mike Green, Brendan Morrison, and Alex Ovechkin added singles for the Capitals. Michal Neuvirth stopped 32 shots in the victory.
Paul Gaustad and Tim Connolly scored for the Sabres, while Ryan Miller stopped 33 shots in a losing effort.
