Islanders top Thrashers in shootout

The New York Islanders stayed focused after giving up a 4-1 led to take a 6-5 shootout win over the Atlanta Thrashers at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum Saturday.

New York won as a -119 home favorite while the final score played OVER the 5.5-goal total.

Frans Nielsen netted the shootout winner while Josh Bailey tallied a goal and an assist.

The Thrashers' Maxim Afinogenov scored twice and helped out on two other goals in the loss.
