Hurricanes drop Maple Leafs

Patrick Dwyer's third period marker was the winner, as the Carolina Hurricanes downed the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 on Tuesday night.

Joni Pitkanen had three helpers for the Hurricanes, who got a goal and an assist from Eric Staal in the victory.

Lee Stempniak and Nikolai Kulemin scored for Toronto, which outshot Carolina 40-18 on the night.
