Blues overcome Red Wings in shootout

Brad Boyes netted the winner in the shootout to lift the St. Louis Blues past the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 on Tuesday night.

St. Louis won as +120 home underdogs, while the teams played OVER the 5.5-goal total posted by oddsmakers.

Paul Kariya had a goal and an assist in regulation for the Blues, who got a pair of helpers from David Backes in the win.

Pavel Datsyuk, Kris Draper, and Valtteri Filppula scored for Detroit, which was outshot 45-42 by St. Louis on the night.
