Nickson double threat leads Vanderbilt

Chris Nickson threw for two touchdowns and ran for three as Vanderbilt dropped Duke 45-28 at Wallace Wade Stadium on Saturday.

The Commodores covered the 8.5-point spread at home, and the 73 points scored were OVER the posted total of 40.

Nickson was 14-for-24 for 250 yards and two touchdowns, while running for 156 yards and three scores on 15 carries. Earl Bennett had nine catches for 184 yards and a major for the Commodores.

Thaddeus Lewis went 10-for-25 for 106 yards and two picks, while Justin Boyle rushed for 113 yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries for the Blue Devils.
