Connecticut thumps Duke

Tyler Lorenzen threw for just under 300 yards in leading the Connecticut Huskies to a convincing 45-14 win over the Duke Blue Devils in their season opener on Saturday.

Connecticut easily covered the 4.5-point spread on the road, and the game’s 59 points made it OVER the posted total of 52.

Lorenzen completed 22-of-30 pass attempts with two touchdowns for Connecticut, and D.J. Hernandez caught two passes for 69 yards and a TD.

Brandon King scored the only Duke offensive touchdown on a six-yard pass from Thaddeus Lewis, who was intercepted three times.
