Senators rally past Hurricanes
Alex Kovalev scored the shootout winner and the Ottawa Senators clinched a playoff berth with a 4-3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes Thursday night at Scotiabank Place.
Ottawa won the game as -180 favorites, while the combined score made it OVER the posted over/under (5.5).
Erik Karlsson scored twice for the Senators, and Anton Volchenkov added the other goal in regulation. Jason Spezza pocketed three assists in the victory.
Jamie McBain, Chad LaRose and Brandon Sutter scored for the Hurricanes.
