Carolina stopped Montreal from clinching a playoff berth as the Hurricanes defeated the Canadiens 5-2 Thursday night.
Carolina won the game as +105 underdogs at home, while the seven goals made it OVER the posted over/under (5.5).
Eric Staal potted a hat trick and collected a pair of helpers for the Hurricanes. Chad LaRose scored twice and pocketed two assists in the win.
Brian Gionta and Marc-Andre Bergeron tallied for the Canadiens.
