Bruins beat up on Canes

The Boston Bruins remain in a postseason spot after knocking off the Carolina Hurricanes, 4-2, at the TD Garden Saturday afternoon.

Boston won as a -174 home favorite while the final score played OVER the 5-goal total set by oddsmakers.

The Bruins are holding steady in the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference thanks to goals from Daniel Paille, Blake Wheeler, Steve Begin and Milan Lucic. Goaltender Tuukka Rask stopped 33 shots for the win.

The Hurricanes got goals from Erik Cole and Patrick Dwyer in the second period. Goaltender Cam Ward turned away 38 of 41 shots in the loss.
