Senators edge Penguins in opener

Jarkko Ruutu scored the game-winning goal in the third period as the Ottawa Senators defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-4 in Game 1 of their opening round playoff series Wednesday night.

Ottawa won the game as +195 underdogs, while the nine goals sailed OVER the posted over/under (5.5).

Peter Regin, Chris Neil, Chris Kelly, and Erik Karlsson also tallied for the Senators.

Evgeni Malkin potted two goals for the Penguins, while Craig Adams and Alex Coligoski added singles in the loss.
