Tomas Plekanec scored with 6:41 remaining in overtime to give the Montreal Canadiens a 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals in Game 1 of their best-of-seven Eastern Conference first-round playoff series.
The Canadiens won the game as +260 underdogs, while the five goals went UNDER the posted over/under (6).
Michael Cammalleri and Scott Gomez had the other Canadiens goals in regulation. Jaroslav Halak stopped 45 shots for the win.
Joe Corvo and Nicklas Backstrom replied for the Capitals, while Jose Theodore turned away 35 shots in a losing effort.
