Cavaliers win small versus Broncos
The No. 25 Virginia Cavaliers scored enough to win on Saturday, but they couldn’t help their supporters out by covering the spread in a 31-19 victory versus the Western Michigan Broncos.
The Cavs had been listed as big 35-point favorites in this contest. The combined score fell UNDER the game’s posted total (57.5).
Cavaliers QB Marques Hagans went 16-of-21 for 205 yards, tossing a TD strike to Tom Santi and rushing for a Virginia touchdown. Michael Johnson and Cedric Peerman also ran for Cavs scores in the win.
For the Broncos, Robbie Haas was good on 33-of-47 pass attempts for 258 yards, and was intercepted once. C.J. Wilson returned an interception for a touchdown in the second quarter, Western Michigan’s only major of the game.
