Cavaliers win big over Blue Devils

The No. 23 Virginia Cavaliers put up 21 points in the third quarter Saturday en route to an easy, 38-7 win over the visiting Duke Blue Devils.

The Cavs’ second-half surge allowed them to cover the 23-point spread in this contest. The combined score fell UNDER the game’s posted total (49).

Cavaliers quarterback Marques Hagans went 12-of-20 for 169 yards passing in the win, and tossed TD strikes to Deyon Williams (two), Tom Santi, and John Phillips. Cedric Peerman ran for a Virginia score.

For Duke, Zack Asack completed 7-of-13 pass attempts for 89 yards, with one touchdown pass and two interceptions. Jomar Wright had the TD catch for the Blue Devils.
