Cavaliers Down Idaho 21-20 - Match Report
The Vandals had no answer for Perry Jones on Saturday as the Cavaliers rolled to a 21-20 win at Scott Stadium.
Virginia did not, however, defeat the Vandals against the spread, which closed at 16 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 52.5.
Michael Rocco completed 20 of 30 pass attempts for 240 yards for the Cavaliers in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Princeton McCarty rushed for 90 yards for Idaho, while Kama Bailey added 20 yards. Brian Reader threw for 193 yards for the Vandals, while receivers Mike Scott and Armauni Johnson had 74 and 49 yards respectively.
Idaho lost the offensive yardage battle to Virginia 496-296 yards in Saturday's game. Virginia had more first downs as that total ended up 27-12.
Idaho lost the time of possession battle 34:09/25:51, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Virginia looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Georgia Tech. Idaho will aim to get back on the winning track vs Louisiana Tech.
