The Pittsburgh Penguins scored four times on the power play as they defeated the Montreal Canadiens 6-3 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series Friday night at Mellon Arena.
Pittsburgh won the game as -270 favorites, and the nine goals sailed OVER the posted over/under (5.5) set by sportsbooks.
Sergei Gonchar, Jordan Staal, Kris Letang, Craig Adams, Alex Goligoski, and Bill Guerin answered for the Penguins. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 28 shots in the win.
P.K. Subban, Michael Cammalleri, and Brian Gionta scored for the Canadiens.
